A significant moment for Yuu’n Mee came in 2009, when the government of Thailand honored us with the “Thailand Best Friend Award.” The award was presented during a ceremony in Bangkok by Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and Minister of Commerce Porntiva Nakasai. Among other things, the award recognizes our company’s trusted and successful collaboration with partners in Thailand.

Yuu’n Mee was founded as an Austrian brand in 2005. Over the years, we have reached numerous milestones. We would like to share some of our achievements with you:

2010
Another special milestone for us was the launch of the Yuu’n Mee Mangrove Reforestation Project in Thailand in 2010. The project supports the restoration of mangrove areas. Mangroves provide habitats for numerous animal and plant species and help protect coastal ecosystems. Learn more about our project here.
Together with WWF Austria, we were the first company in Austria to promote Yuu’n Mee Black Tiger Organic Shrimp from organic aquaculture and successfully introduce this innovative product to the retail market. Yuu’n Mee Black Tiger Organic Shrimp was not only the first organic shrimp product from an Austrian company to be labeled the new EU organic logo, but was also certified by Austria Bio Garantie in accordance with the new requirements of the EU Organic Regulation.
2015
With our premium “Edel Garnelen natur” shrimp, we were also the first supplier to launch shrimp certified to the ASC (Aquaculture Stewardship Council) standard in Austrian retail.
2016
The beginning of another project that is especially important to us: Yuu’n Mee Mangrove Forest Farming in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam. This farming model integrates shrimp farming into a landscape shaped by mangrove forests. For more information about this project, please click here:
2018
Our relaunch: Since 2018, Yuu’n Mee has presented itself with a new brand identity: our logo, claim, and packaging design were redesigned. This step symbolizes not only a visual renewal, but also our ongoing development.

Another significant milestone: Our Prawns from mangrove forest farm were honored with the INTERNORGA Future Prize in the “Food & Beverages” category. The INTERNORGA Future Prize is a renowned award in the food industry. An independent expert jury recognizes companies that stand out with innovative products and concepts.
2023
Our Organic Black Tiger Prawns from an organically certified mangrove forest farm was one of the winning products at the Anuga taste Innovation Show 2023, selected by an international expert jury.
2024
Honored again: In 2024, Yuu’n Mee was honored at the Nordic Organic Food Fair in Stockholm with the Nordic Natural & Organic Innovation Award in the “Best New Organic Food Product” category. Our Organic Black Tiger Prawns from organically certified mangrove forest farm received the award.
